Wednesday morning Coed men 60+ and women 40+ 2020 League
In today’s only doubleheader, the CoStars scored 36 runs, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a sweep vs. Athletic House, who scored five runs in eight of their 12 innings, four in each game. The games were not quite as close as would appear from the scores, since AH wound up with the hammer in both games, and the CoStars couldn’t score in the top of either final inning.

On a beautiful day, our last full slate of games, with plenty of excitement. The Eagles hung tight with Athletic House but came up short before AH coasted in the second game.
The CoStars, down 9-2 after two innings, erupted for nine runs in the top of the 7th to go up by one, but PJ’s Sports prevailed in the hammer. But in the second game, the CoStars sealed a 10-7 win with two great catches by Gary Rubino and one by Eddie Wolford in the 5th and final inning.
Senior Moments came from behind twice to pick up a tie and a win vs. the Falcons. With the CoStars split vs. PJ’s, the Division B race has tightened considerably.

Athletic House evened the season series with a sweep of PJ’s Sports. The Division A crown has come down to whether the two teams can run the table vs. the B teams. The rejuvenated Eagles led all the way in the opener, but the Falcons eked out the win, then coasted to a sweep to extend their Division B lead over the CoStars.
Gary Rubino’s 3-run homer paced the CoStars in the opener, but Senior Moments played error-free defense and scored five in the last two innings for the split in one of the best-played Division B games in recent memory.
See below for the revised schedule. The only change is that I am switching 11/04 and 11/06, because PJ’s and Eagles don’t know if they can play then. With the switch, no other team is affected.

Athletic House and PJ’s Sports had opted to face each other only three times, so it was all Division B teams. The Falcons had an easy win over the Eagles in the opener, but the second game was far tighter, with the Falcons scoring the winning run with two outs in the 7th on an overthrow.
Meanwhile, the CoStars overcame a 5-0 deficit to win the first game vs. Senior Moments. In the second game, SM, trailing by seven, scored five in the 4th to get within two, but the CoStars came right back with a five-spot to take control.

PJ’s Sports nosed out Athletic House in the opener, but AH came back for the split. The CoStars, keyed by Karl Aro’s 3-run triple, took an early 7-1 lead and held on in the opener, but the Falcons scored 7 in the top of the 7th to put the second game out of reach. Senior Moments swept the Eagles in a low-scoring set.
