The flags were not raised for Opening Day of the Ross Emerson League, Spring 2016, but 90 senior softballer played some close and exciting games.

Good Sports take 2 close ones, 16-14 and 15-11 from Dust Busters; Don Juran has a bases clearing double to ensure win.

Senators take 2 from Fireballs 13-3 in the opener and 12-11. After taking the lead in the top of the 6th 8-7, the Senators scored 5 runs in the bottom half making it 12-8. With the heart of the order at bat in the 7th inning, the fireballs scored 3 runs and had the tying run on third, when pitcher Charley Johnson shut the door to secure a 12-11 victory.

The Rebels, after struggling last season; it might have been that all they needed was a name change. Under new management, Mike Newton led his team to a win the very first game of the season 9-8 over the Patriots. In the second game of the twin bill the Patriots prevailed 9-1 as Jorge Carmouze hit a home run on his 84th birthday.
